During my junior year my biggest life changing moment was when basketball started. My coach, coach Coone, told me I needed to play a big role in this year's basketball season. I was going to have to be a dominate force. When we went to our team camp we were in good shape we didn’t lose a game while at camp. We received tournament team champions. Also we received two t-shirts. One tee-shirt was the regular team camp shirt, the other shirt was the team tournament champion shirt. After camp on the ride home coach Coone told us that this was one step to winning a title in our league. In the fall just after football we immediately got to work on the title. Having open gyms and playing other schools helped us out a lot. By our first game we were ready. With all of the preparation we had for the games we started out 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the league. Heading into our league schedule we knew it was going to be a tough challenge but we were up to the task. We ended up going 10-3 in our league leading up the last game, which was a league game. If we won that game we were the league champions, if not then no title. With stellar performances by everyone on our team we knew heading into the fourth quarter it was gut check time and no time to give up, we controlled our own destiny. All of our hard work paid off, because with 3:05 left in the game we went on a scoring streak that they couldn’t stop or regain. After that night we became a part of history, it was the first title we received in almost 40 years. Going into my last year of high school I told myself that we have to repeat as champions, and make another life changing moment not just for me but for my team, my community, and my school.
