Trying to impress

I am a Freshman at Bethlehem High School and I have a great and loving family that I love to spend time with. I do well in school most of the time. I play freshman, junior varsity and varsity volleyball for Bethlehem. Almost everyday of the week I either have a two hour volleyball practice or a game. We go to many places that are far away and we don’t get home till late. I love volleyball so much and I love hanging out with my family also.

During the volleyball season I have a really hard time trying to fit time into my day to hang out with my family. I usually come home and do homework. I also have to study every night for a test. I don’t have much time anymore for family and free things I would like to do. I have had break downs because I am so overwhelmed with my life and I don’t know what to do with my time. I try and make time for family by sometimes not going to volleyball practice but if I do that then I don’t play at our next game which makes me upset and fell bad about letting my team down.

I have figured out an important thing since volleyball and school has started. I have to learn how to manage my time. I didn’t do that well to begin with. I had problems with some of my grades dropping because I would get home late form practices and games and was to tired to stay awake and study. I have now learned that the more you pay attention in class the more you can get done at school instead of worrying about it at home and after school. I am now doing so much better in school.

My dad is a big inspiration to me. I think he is because we have a lot in common and like the same things. He gives me confidence and advice to help with my busy schedule. My dad understands what is going on and he is proud of me because I am excelling in school and doing well in mine and his favorite sport. He has always wanted the best for me and I think I am learning from him to manage my time and to do as best as I can to make him happy. My dad is a person that I have to impress and if I don’t I wont think that he is as proud of me as he should be. He helps me get through things when ever I need help especially during volleyball and school.

If your having a problem trying to impress your sport coach, your parents and anyone else, you have to know that its not how well you do but how far you have become in a person. I think people are so caught up with being perfect they forget the real meaning of being their self and when I think of volleyball I think that I am a team leader and cant let down my coach, parents and my team. I fell bad when ever I make one mistake in anything I do and what I have learned is that I am not perfect but the only thing I can do is try my hardest and make up for it later.
