Talk:The Grinnell College Pub, early 1980s, by Marshall Poe
From MemoryArchive
There's no Pub anymore? They closed it? That's too bad. I was just trying to talk my high school kids into applying to Grinnell and that was one of the big selling points. A self-contained little world in a few-block wide campus, and a bar. We poured so much beer through our young bodies, I felt it was a sort of system cleanser and detoxifyer.
Remember the Alice in Wonderland party? Or was that a figment of my imagination? How about the Grinnell relays?
As an aside, I think raising the drinking age to 21 was a terrible idea. It works against the socialization of teenagers. If I'm ever in charge, the drinking age will go right back down to 18.
