Talk:Snow in Houston, 1958, by Randy Summers

From MemoryArchive

I remember that snow well, have some photographs of the front of our home on the NW. side. I also recall a much more snow snow day, in the early 70's, like 73 during the winter. Worked nights then and had a big old snowball fight in the parking lot next to the Dr. Pepper plant at Houston Ave. and Memorial. One of by friends piled a big old snowball on the windshield of my 70 Super Beetle and I tried to use the wipers to get it off. The wipers quit, blew a fuze, and since it was still snowing I had to lean out the window while driving home and clear the snow, at a slow speed, outbound on the Gulf Frw., for 25 miles.

Thanks for the memories . . . JB
