Talk:Reynolds Coliseum, Raleigh, N.C., 1990s, by Kevin Hilgers

From MemoryArchive

reynolds wasn't built for ag events. it was built as a basketball stadium and (strangely) an ROTC armory type deal. Everett Case (classic coach) was the guiding force behind its construction. To begin with, Reynolds and Cameron Indoor had the exact same design (same architect for both), but then WWII happened. Cameron was completed, but the construction of Reynolds was put on hold. Case decided he needed his place to be bigger and better. He had so much clout from his successes that they moved the foundation to be longer; this is the reason for the long and narrow shape of Reynolds.
