Summer Swingin', 2000s, by Jimmy Bufat
From MemoryArchive
Who: Jimmy Bufat What: rope swing When: summertime Where: Coldspring, Texas
One beautiful breezy summer day Jarned and I chose to go swimming. We swam for a while in the pool, but eventually grew bored. We needed excitement and lots of it! We sat in the pool and decided to make a rope swing at my pond. Which might I mention was a great idea. We had a perfect rope swing that made swimming fun and death defying. Literally it was very scary. The rope swung you about fifteen yards into the water. You would fly about fifteen yards up in the air. To swing you had to climb a deer stand on a tree and jump backwards. The water was about ten feet in depth. The first one to swing was Jarned and he swung towards the water, but didn’t let go! He looked like a stupid fool. But we have been having fun on that swing ever since.
