I am writing my memoir about my 8th grade year. At the end of my 7th grade year I had to transfer schools because we moved. So I started to go to S.V. my 8th grade year. I hated changing schools at first because I was new. As time went by I started to make new friends. In the middle of the year our class decided that we wanted to go on a trip. We decided to go to Cleveland. Our whole purpose of going there was to go to Cedar Point. The trip to Cleveland was so fun. We were on big buses and we got to sit with our friends and talk the whole time. When we arrived at the hotel there was a swimming pool. We went up to our rooms and changed into our bathing suits to swim. The next day we woke up and went to the Rock n Roll hall of fame museum. After that we just came back to the hotel room and went swimming again. The next day we woke up to horrible news. It was raining so they said we couldn’t go to Cedar Point. Everyone was so mad because that’s what we were most excited about. Instead they took us to the mall in Cleveland. It was really big and there were so many stores. We did lots of things on the trip. We went to the stadium where the Cleveland Browns played. I bought a sweatshirt from there. Then that night we went to a Cleveland Indian’s game. It started to rain so hard during the game. We were soaking wet.
When we came back to the hotel room we just got ready for bed. We never stayed in our own rooms on the trip. Everyone would just go in one room and we would play this game where we tackled people on the beds. We had so much fun. Towards the end of the trip one of my friends started to get really sick. She started to throw up everywhere. We took her to another room and helped her. By the morning she was up and ready to go again. Outside the hotel rooms there were tennis courts that we played on when we were done swimming.
Overall, throughout the whole trip what I liked most was spending time with all my closest friends. It was really an oppurtunity for me to get to know a lot of people. I made even more friends on the trip. When it was time to go home we were all sad, but excited for the trip home. I was asleep most of the way home. When we arrived back at the school I stepped off the bus to see my dad standing there waiting for me. I was very excited to see him.
