In sixth grade I signed up for cross-country not knowing what it was until I got home and asked my mom what it was and she told me. At the end of the summer cross-country started up and at the first practice I ran two miles. At the end of my seventh grade year I was running five miles with no problems. Our first meet came and I was nervous and I got third for our team. From then on at our meets I got second for our team. At the end of the season I ran 138 miles all together.

Eighth grade season came and I started running five miles. In the meets I came in second but barley because I had another girl pushing me the entire way the entire season. I got hurt during the season I twisted my ankle and it bothered me to run. I did not let that injury interfere with my running and ran through the pain.

In seventh and eighth grade we had a young’s run which we ran to young’s and on the bike trail to a bike park then went to young’s and when we got there we played putt-putt and then we ate. We also did that freshman year too.

Freshman year came and I was an underdog but not for our team. I was one of the best runners as I have always been. We knew we could do great things with the runners that we had and we made it work. I came in second for our team again until I got hurt. It was my ankle and it got to the point of where it hurt to walk but I ran on it anyway and got third for our team. But at out first meet of the season I got second for our team then that is when it happened I hurt my ankle. The end of the season came and I was running eight miles with no problems.

Summer came and I ran all summer to keep my pace up and I did. Sophomore year came and I got second or our team again. Until I got hurt again but this time it was my arch and it was bad enough to go to the doctor and see what the problem was. My problem with my ankle and my arch both came from the same source and it is called right toe tendenopothy and that is where you pull the tendon in your big toe or at least that is what I did. I still ran out the season injury and all.

Summer came and I ran all summer long. Then junior year came and it all happened again and I was second for our team but this year someone else was in front of me instead of the girl that was in front of me for the four years before that. We still did as well as we did before. And once again I was injured and this time it was not my ankle or my arch it was my hip. I still did my best limping and all but I still kept up my pace and stayed in second for our team.

Spite all my pain that I was in I still did great things running even for the team. My personal records are going to regional, as a freshman and sophomore would have made it junior year if I were not hurt. I came in second place at OHC for seventh, freshman years and came in third in eighth and sophomore years and came in fifth junior year. For the team we won OHC seventh to sophomore year. Made it to regional, my sophomore year.
