How do we decided how to choose right from wrong? What if we choose the "right" thing but honestly feel like it was the "wrong" thing? Should we have chosen the other? Is it most important to do what is expected or what we feel? So many questions, too little answers.
Let me tell you a story, well a memory of what happened to me.
I was at a local luandry mat washing my bed spreads. I walked into the public bathroom and there was a black mens' wallet sitting on the window sill. I contiplated opening it or pretending I never saw it. Of course being the nosey female I am I looked inside. There I saw five one hundred dollar bills and over fifteen twenty dollar bills and afew ten dollar bills, totaling more than one thousand dollars. I was then faced with the issue of doing what is "right" or doing what is "wrong". I was raised to never steal or take what is not offered, on the other hand I could really use the extra money for my up coming vaction. I decided to give the wallet to the man who left it. It turns out I was VERY UNSURE of my decision! Days after this event I beat myself up for not taking it money but I also reminded my self "what goes around comes around".
Now, days later the "right" thing is still unclear. Society encourages truthfulness but my mind was upset. It seams that with either desision I would have let someone down.
