1:10am -- Leave the house to meet up with Kat and Chad.

1:15am -- We stand at the corner holding bags filled with beer, and wait for a guy that we have never met before to pick us up.

1:30am -- Jim picks us up, and is thankfully not a murderer.

1:45am -- We arrive at apartments for the University of Cape Town, and move into the "lounge," which consists of a cement floor, plastic chairs, and a hospital-style television.

2:00am -- Red Sox game begins...Johnny Damon, the first up, gets a home-run, and one of the ten American students watching hits the wall for good luck (by the end of the game I wanted to cut his arm off).

2:00am-5:00am -- We watch the game while taking commercial breaks to go outside and watch the lunar eclipse. Kat and I have a beer, and regret it instantly. We are trying desperately to stay awake.

5:45am -- The last inning. We are no longer slumped in our chairs, but up on our feet. Last pitch...HOLY SHIT!!!! WONWEWONWEWONWEWONWEWON!!! Kat and I scream, and jump up and down. A kid from New Hampshire who we met only hours before hugs all of us, including Chad. It is now light outside, and we can see Table Mountain through the window. I wish for a minute that I am home, but so happy that I could see the game from so many miles away with other Red Sox fans.
