Who: Sara Couch What: Pro-Life March When: January, 2005 Where: Washington, DC
Last January I attended the annual Pro Life March in Washington DC. This was the third time I participated in the march, but it was the first time being a resident of DC myself. I met up with friends from home on the corner of 17th and Constitution Avenue. There were thousands of people there from all over country. Many carried signs with all different types of messages. Most just had simple phrases like “Stop Abortion Now”, or “Abortion is Murder”, while others have graphic pictures of aborted fetuses. Along the route people will sing songs, say prayers, or repeat cheers. There are also spectators and Pro Choice people who stand on the side as the March moves past them. In general it is a very moving experience to be in the nation’s capital and see all these people come together to stand up for something they believe in and try to make a difference.
