What: Finishing a Basement

My best memory would have to be when we finished our basement. We moved in our house September of 05 and we finished our basement in December of last year. It started out as just a big open space, then my dad but up some frames and that took a while; I loved to help him though. I would go and help put up the boards, and sweep up all the dust there was from when he would cut the boards my brother and I would go pick up the scrap wood and trash. He and my mom would stay up late just to get that extra board up or sweep that extra pile of wood shavings. Then came the drywall, which took a long time also, when it was done then came the painting and the staining. My mom and I would stain all the trim and the door frames. It was a really messy thing but it was also something fun to do with my mom. I also had to help paint all the rooms my dad tried but it was better that he just stuck to the construction work. My brother did all the door handles and he did a pretty good job. Then before we had the carpet we had a bunch of people over and they all singed our floor and they but some interesting things. I wrote all over that floor my friends and every one had something different to say. Then we had to pick out some carpet so we just picked out the kind we have upstairs. When it was laid we had to move every thing back down stairs that was a little hard seeing how we have a narrow staircase. Once we got it all down there we had move them all around. But we finally did and now we love to have people down there and spend time down there.
