I had spent most my life trying to convince my parents to get a dog, dragging them into the pet store every time we were in the mall. My dad had grown up with tons of animals, but my mom was completely against it. She had never had a pet, and didn’t think we could handle it. Well, one day when I went to the mall with my friend Lindsay I saw a cute little Cocker Spaniel in the pet store window. That’s it I was sold. I had to have that cocker spaniel. The little body with those big floppy ears. She was just so adorable. I came back to the mall later with my mom and tried to convince that this was the puppy for her, I even made her hold her. Well, of course she said no. I was not taking that for an answer. I went back and begged my dad. So I had the whole family at the mall, and I was crying like a banshee. I didn’t stop crying until my parents said yes. I said things like if we don’t buy this dog, who will? And if someone doesn’t it will just die or get killed. Well, after all the crying and begging my parents finally gave in. YEAH!!! We had our first dog; well it turns out after 3 more. It was the right decision to get Crystal our 12 year old Cocker Spaniel. She’s the love of our lives, along with the other 3. We wound up with another dog about a year after getting crystal, because my mom the one who hated animals thought that Crystal could use a friend, and the rest goes from there. We now have 4 awesome dogs, and we love them to death. All our dogs, love each other, as much as we love them. But who would have ever thought, my mom the woman who grew up hating animals would turn out to have a soft spot for dogs, and other animals too.
