Who: Trissa Marshall What: The terrorist attack of the world trade center When: September 11th 2001 Where: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada
On september 11th 2001 i was in grade four and was siiting in the cubby area getting ready to have our group novel studie when my teacher called everyone in to the area and told us that 2 planes had crashed into the big building in newyourk which was the world trade center. my friend burst into tears because her dad worked at the world trade centre. she was so scared that something happened to her daddy. most kids my age probably have forgotten by now but my life was drastically affected by these events. after we herd the news the princible came on the announcements and told us the news followed by a few moments of silence and prayer.when i got to the babysitters that day after school the scary images of planes crashing into buildings was playing over and over again on the news. it made me feel sick and scared that that could happen to people. one of my best friends lost their dad that day and she had not seen him since the christmas of 2000. she was devastaded because they couldnt find her dad anywhere, but i tried not to let her give up hope. i would sit with her and we would pray at church that her dad was safe. but i guess it was his time to go. "without sufering, there can be no compassion" is what we were told to make it easier for my friend. i think i can speek for everyone when i say that god is with the victums families andthat they are in a better place now. all that can help these families is persiverence and a love for god because "when someone closes a door somewhere ,someone opens a window". in jesus's name we pray for thee. amen.
