Well this story you are about to read is the story of my junior year. It’s about the up’s and downs and about this best year of my life so far. This story is going to start out with me introducing myself to you, my name is Mark Crews and this is my story.

The year starts off with a few months before school started. In the summer I had a really good job. I worked for a roofing company named Robs Roofing. It’s been my best friend's uncle's business and they need summer help so there I was. I started roofing for them for twelve dollars an hour, which is pretty damn good for a high schooler. Everyday I would get up at six am and go to my boss’s house and all ride with him to the job site. The days were long, hot and pretty hard and it was the best time of my life. I was with my best friend and with a bunch of cool guys. We worked hard then we would always get a case of beer and just relax on the roof and drink it.

Around the middle of July I was still working but something more important to me then a job started, FOOTBALL. We started our workouts and our passing camps. This was my first year at a new school so at first I felt a little uncomfortable but then after awhile I felt like one of the guys. One day we was all running out on the track getting in are workout a girls soccer team was out there. Of course we was all was starring at them because they were girls in really short shorts. There was a lot of good looking girls out there but one really caught my eye. She was a senior and a team captain she was really good-looking. To make a long story short I guess she thought the same about me because she got my number and we started dating.

The football team was coming along well and I had a varsity spot on the defense and was a rotating running back. I seemed like things could not get any better for me and man I was right. It was finally time for are first real scrimmage and it was the week before are first real game. It was about five minutes into are game and we was winning by a touch down. Our defense was out there and I was playing nose guard. Something that changed the rest of my football season happened I got landed on by a three-hundred pounded lineman and broke my ankle and had to get two screws put in my ankle. I was done for the year.

So a few months go by and are team did well without me we went 6-4 and I was there at every practice and every game just watching. But my ankle healed and it was time to get down to business because my sport was about to be in season wrestling. The year started out well I was pretty dominant our wrestling room and placed first at our huge home wrestling meet. The year went well and I ended up being my sectionals champion and was on my way to districts going in being the first seed. I ended up the season with a record of 31-6. It was a pretty good season and I did pretty well but I did not reach my goal making it to state but there always next year.

Well that’s all I have to say about all that. Those were some of the highlights of my junior year and I can’t wait to see what the future brings my way.
