My First Concert (KISS), 2006, by Joe Marrieman

Who: Joe Marrieman What: My first concert When: May, 2006 Where: Ohio
My most life-changing event was my first concert. I saw the rock band Kiss. I remember seeing them doing something that they loved and had fun doing. That turned me onto metal a lot. I was about 11 years old, the next day after the show I bugged my parents for a bass or a guitar so that I could be like the guys I saw last night. I didn’t get the bass for a few months but when I did I was so exited, I played it non-stop, all day everyday. After a few years I was getting bored with it so I bought my first acoustic guitar.
I had trouble learning the guitar, more trouble then I thought. I ended up taking lessons from my father’s friend B.B. Who is really good at playing. I told him that I played bass. He told me he was trying to start a band. He said that all he needed was a bassist. I told him that I wanted to do it and so we did.
At first like any band we were not that good but after a few months we progressed and got a lot better. We play at small bars and clubs and we still are. I think if I never went to that show I never would have played any instruments or started the band and I am glad I went to see them.
