In the fall of 2005, my cheer leading team the Maryland Mystics went to Atlanta, Georgia for a cheer leading competition. We woke up at 2:00 am to get on the bus! I’m glad we went because I learned how to be dedicated to something that I like to do.

So to get the story started, we woke up at 2:00 am in the morning because we had to go all the way to Atlanta, Georgia. It was so boring on that bus. All we would do is go to sleep, wake up, eat and do it all over again. We stopped a lot, like to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We wasn’t dressed yet so when we had to eat we had to go in the place with rollers in our hair and our pajamas. It tooks us about 4 to 5 days to get to the competition.

When we arrived in Atlanta, Georgia we went straight to our rooms. Another girl and her mother was sharing a room with me and my mother. After we got ourselves unpacked we went shopping. We had one hundred dollars each. I stretched my money to my best advantage. Then we ate and went swimming. We had to have shower caps on our heads because the competition was that next day and we did not want to get our heads messed up. We went to bed at 8:00 o'clock that night because we had to hurry up to get that next day.

We woke up that morning, scared as can be. We went to the competition. We did our routine one more time, and next thing we know it was time to go on the stage. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1... It was so scary but we did not mess up not one time. Nobody messed up and then we had to go back to the stage to hear what we won. We got 2nd place.

We went back on the bus and went home. We lost but we had a winning attitude. When we got back we had a great time. We worked hard and we won our next tournament. IT WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!!
