Hello. My name is Emily Klunick and I’m 16 years old. I have some pretty cool friends and we like to be pretty cool together. If you met us, you might think we are weird, but that’s ok.
My best friend is Hannah Curtes. I met her when I was in sixth grade. We lived really close, like a block away from each other. One day she asked me to walk home with her, but I couldn’t because I was on crutches, because I broke my ankle, which she didn’t realize. She’s kind of stupid, in her own special way. But I love her anyways. My other best friend is Abbey Gordon. I met Abbey through Hannah when we were in eighth grade. The three of us pretty much do everything together. I love them to the stars and I would do anything for them and I know they would do the same for me. I learn so much with them, about myself and other random things.
Last summer the three of us were hanging out, like always. We went to Governor Dodge State Park. At the park they have these paddle boats, and they’re big, like bigger than a normal paddle boat. So we rented one and went out on the lake. Hannah doesn’t know how to swim very well so she was scared. We paddled out to the middle of the lake and jumped in. Since Hannah doesn’t know how to swim, she jumped in with her life jacket, and me and Abbey made fun of her, like usual. Then, we pushed her in and she got mad, and we laughed. After swimming we came back to the beach and laid in the sun and just talked, like all girls do.
I have another best friend who isn’t really in my “group” of other friends. She is my sister, her name is Ali and she is two years older than me. This fall she started college and has moved out and is living on her own. Ali and I used to not be very close. We would fight about everything, from who could read faster to who had better clothes. My family moved into a house in town from our country house, and Ali and I had to share a room. We shared a room from the time I was in fifth grade until my freshman year. We became so close over those three and a half years because we were forced to be together. Then we moved into a different house and our rooms were right next to each other in the basement. She is like my best friend, I tell her everything. She helps me with my homework, and listens to my problems. She is the best sister anyone could ever ask for and I wouldn’t change her for the world. She is my other half.
I love all of my friends more than anything. I would be lost without them, they are my world.
