Who: Jassaras What: A boat When: 2001 Where: Texas
Back in the days of my childhood, I was fascinated by the water. I had my own boat that I named “The USS.JASS.SSBN734” The boat was covered of a blue and white color with a blue tarp with 4 seats. I thought it was the biggest thing ever, even though it was a small paddle boat my grandfather had given me when I was 9. We lived on Lake Livingston, and everyday I would go out to my boat and ride it, even through the tough paddling for a 9 year old. One day my best friend we called “Mikey” came to my house for the day. He was surprised to see a paddle boat at our boat dock. “Wow, I want to ride it right away!” Mikey exclaimed, I completely agreed and we took off moments later. We headed through the waves of the lake, and deeper into the dusky waters of Lake Livingston. We were in the lake for at least 40 minutes, when suddenly we notice that we were only making circles, that in fact we were not going anywhere. We looked around wondering what was going on, and shifting the turn shift of the paddle boat. When we find out that the steering paddle was missing. “What are we going to do?!” Mikey exclaimed. I had no idea myself; I was just as confused and rushed by the adrenaline. We looked around for at least 30 minutes, when we saw something that looked like a shingle.” Maybe that could be the paddle” Mikey said. Without any where to go, we slowly but surely with our hands made it to the shingle at least 100 feet away. And in fact as we got closer, It was the paddle. Ecstatic by finding the paddle, I jumped into the dusky wavy waters, and put it back on, not even afraid of the waters. As when I was young, I loved the water, but I always was afraid. We headed Home, and quickly stepped on the ground, happy to be on land once again.
