I wonder where she is now?

I remember the many special moments she created for her students. Miss DiGiuseppe. Miss "D" we used to call her. Miss "D" more than any other teacher, in my tiny on floor school, made us laugh! She filled our rooms and hallway with joy and laughter. Through her unique combination of qualities she opened a world of wonder and beauty for us to explore. She lavished her warmth and affection on students and teachers alike. She united everyone. Her sense of humour allowed us to play, discover and set free our creativity. In her class every student was an artist, a comic, a musician, a scientist. We loved art and music in her class. It was a thrill to sing along with her during at music time! She was tall and slender with long dark hair and a bright warm friendly smile. She had the figure and the grace of a dancer yet she was a comic and musician at heart. Her gestures and warm personality brought everyone close to her and through her we learnt how to share and accept one another. She always moved with a sense of light urgency in attending to the needs of her students. We admired her, respected her, enjoyed being with her, and helping her. We never disappointed Miss "D". Through her kindness, warmth, generosity and creativity she has left me a treasure of fond memories and skills that I carry with me to this day.

What a wonderful teacher she was.
