In August 2005 the gulf coast was hit by a hurricane called Katrina. It hit us badly most people didnt have a home. We lost our stuff and it takes time to rebuild. I'm just glad that i had my family during this strategy cause without them i would be nothing.

When we first heard about the hurricane coming down here it was a level two, so we left we went to Belzonia in stayed up there until they had let us come back through. The people up there was very nice our hotel was twenty dollars a night. They cooked for us. It was just a blessing to me because I had just about all my family with us.

When we got back home we pulled together, abd helped each other out on our needs. We helped clean up take the stuff out the house, paint and everything. At the time it was disappointing but then again it helped pull my family together also in that was nice.
