Hurricane Katrina has affected thousands of people in the U.S. People who live in Moss Point, Biloxi, New York, California, anywhere in America you could think of. August 29, 2005 was the worst day of my life. Hurricane Katrina destroyed my home, school, and the entire Gulf Coast. People lost loved ones, homes, jobs, and themselves. It was the biggest depression period I have ever experienced and I thank God that everyone I know was safe.

Hurricane Katrina affected me in several ways. Some ways were that I couldn't live in my house because of the damage, I couldn't go to school because my school had been flooded, and there was no way to get in touch with my friends. My family and I had to heat water so it could be warm enough to take a nice bath. We had to eat disgusting packaged food from local churches and other companies who were generous enough to give out food and supplies. Things were terrible for everyone.

In addition to the sorrow and depression, Hurricane Katrina changed my life. My house has new everything and my mom was able to buy me a new computer after so long. I met new friends who sent us letters telling my family and I that they were praying for us. I appreciate everything my family has and that we all are safe. I thank God that currently, everything is all good.
