Hurricane Katrina was a terrible disaster. It was a very strongest hurricane in decades. It was a category five. Alot of people were killed in this hurricane. The whole gulf coast was destroyed by Katrina.

Katrina affected me in alot of ways. It only lasted for a couple of hours, but the damage lasted much longer. Luckily I did not have much damage to my house. My power was out for a week. We had to go to the fair ground for food, water, and ice. Those few days were the hottest and worst days of my life.

Alot of people lost there houses to Katrina. Alot of people lost their lives too. People had to live in tents for weeks. Then they were gave small trailers from FEMA.People needed jobs and jobs need employees. People were given money so they could start over. This hurricane messed up alot of peoples lives.
