There alot of memories I have about Hurricane Katrina. I can still remember this day like it was yesterday. The night before the hurricane hit my mom and I went to the store to buy batteries, candles, water, canned foods, first-aid kits and portable radios. We had all of our supplies ready for the storm.

I remember waking up in the middle of the night to use the restroom, all of the power was off. I woke my mom up and told her that the storm had hit. We rushed into the kitchen to get all of our flash lights and candles. It was horrible the only thing I could hear was trees blowing hard, the wind whistling, and rain hitting our house.

Later that morning a big tree fell through my roof, luckly I didn't get hurt. My mom and I rushed to go and put on our clothes so we could walk to my aunt's house. As my mom and I walked down the street all I felt was the wind blowing me back as if a force was pushing me not wanting me to enter. The rain was pounding against me. It felt like bees repeadiately stinging me over and over again.

Hurricane Katrina caused a lot of damage on the Gulf Coast. There wasn't power nor water for more than a week. After the storm since there wasn't any water to take baths with or to cook with people started busing fire hydrents open. That was the only water supply we had. Finally the ppower and water came back on and I was so happy.
