From MemoryArchive
Who: Gerry What: Kool-Aid Club When: 1936 Where: Roscoe, Minn.
In 1936 at the age of 8, I wsa the president of the Kool-Aid club in Roscoe, Minn. We had a membership of five. Roscoe had a population of about 135.
We would take jelly sandwiches and a jar of Kool-Aid and find a cool, shady place to picnic. Just outside Roscoe, there was a big tree and grassy ground. We sat down and were enjoying our Kool-Aid. Suddenly we heard a loud noise and saw a farmer aiming his gun at us and yelling, "Get Out!"
We all tok off running as fast as we could, leaving our picnic behind. That was the end of our Kool-Aid Club.
