The Begining of A Life Not Wanted

August 24, 1988, My brother and I arrive to Lubbock, Texas with our mother. We just came from San Antonio where we just buried our father. We had a good life there in San Antonio, we had cousins to play with, aunts and uncles that adored us. Here we have nothing but the clothes on our back and the chill of hatred peeking over the rim. Well like most things in life it tends to start off easy. The school I went to was Dupre Elementary, which by the way was the sorriest school I have ever been too up to this point in my life.

The teacher was so beautiful. She had me doing things for the first time that I have never done. Like volunteering to read or helping others do their work. She had a way with the boys in the class, she would ask and us boys would do. I loved 6th grade until I was bullied. The winter break is over and Spring is setting in. The temperature is about 60 degrees and a new life is yet upon me again. I am leaving O.L. Slaton Junior High in Lubbock, Texas to enter in Ropes Junior High in Ropesville, Texas. I have been here many times before with my father to visit my Grandpa and Grandma. Well this time it was different, less that a year ago my father died and my mother decided to bring us back to her HELL. The town is a ghost town with nothing in it but a pool hall. It has one flashing light on the main road to remind drivers on the road to slow down.
