When I was in ninth grade, my aunt invited me to travel to Ireland with her for the summer. How could I say no? And so, after packing, and departing on an extremely long plane ride next to my five year old cousin (who spilled sprite my lap an hour after take-off) I arrived in the greenest place I have ever seen. Ireland is a beautiful country, filled with friendly faces and castles. The weather was temperate, occasionally drizzly and always comfortable. When we first arrived in Ireland, we visited Kerry. This was a very nice area in Southern Ireland, and although from what I remember it was a bit touristy, it was fun and pretty, and people have a good reason for wanting to visit there so often. If you ever decide to go to Kerry, I suggest taking a bus tour. I went on one, and got to see some amazing countryside, plus, the bus driver was quite a character. After Kerry, we traveled north towards Derry. We rented a little house for the summer in a village about ten or fifteen minutes north of Derry called Moville, and enjoyed the quiet atmosphere, the newness of being in a foriegn land. One really fun thing to do in Ireland was drive to north for about 20 minutes and go to a tiny uncrowded beach. If you're in for a refreshing experience, take a dip in the Northern Atlantic. It's worth it once your out of the water. Being in Ireland was really cool, and I am glad I got the chance to experience something like that at such a young age.
