I remember going to Canada fishing. Every year the Mount Horeb FFA goes to Canada on a fishing trip. We drive up from Mount Horeb to Jutten Lake. It's a long drive and we only stop to sleep for a couple of hours. We go up in a big group with a bunch of trucks pulling boats. We are on an island so when we finally get there we have to get all of our stuff to the island. To do that we take the boats over full of our stuff then we set up camp. We can’t go fishing until the camp is set up. We normally eat an early supper then fish for the rest of the day.

We are normally the only people on the lake. There are only 2 kinds of fish in the lake, northerns and walleyes. We eat the fish we catch for supper. We get up at 7 and eat breakfast then fish all day and come back for supper; we make bag lunches to eat in the boats. Then some people go back out and fish after supper and some stay back and play cards. I normally stay back to play cards. We play euchre. We catch a lot of fish up there. If it’s warm enough we go swimming because there is no way to shower while we are on the island and we are there for 6 days. One day we went to a nearby lake and we saw a waterfall. I have gone 3 years now. I will go again this year. The first year on the last day we were going back to the island to filet our fish and right before we got there our boat started to sink. The last day on the island is just a teardown day; we take down all the tents and take everything back to the vehicles.

We load up everything and go to the nearest town to eat and take showers. We stop there on the way up also. Then after we are done there we drive back home. The drive home is like the drive up but we don’t stop to sleep at all. Then we get home and sleep.
