Failing World Geography, 2006, by Beth Avis

Who: Beth Avis What: Failing World Geography When: August 2006-? Where: Kentucky
One obstacle in my life would definitely be my World Geography class with Mr. Cabral. I was getting pretty good grades at first in his class, but I can’t pass his quizzes or tests at all! It’s terrible!!!!! To make it worse, if I don’t keep an A-B average in all my classes here at Bethlehem, I lose my scholarship, and that would really be bad because it’s just the first semester of school. The class is fun and everything, and he is a good teacher, but the tests are IMPOSSIBLE, for a lot of people I guess because I think there are only about two or three people in my class that are getting A’s.
Since everyone is failing, Mr. Cabral has curved the tests so we could get better grades, and only counted the 2 quizzes that we did the best on. I thought that was awesome of him to do! But this week, we have four tests on the last four days of school before fall break! They are covering one hundred and twenty definitions and it is going to be a real *obstacle* for me to pass them and get a good grade, so I can keep my scholarship.
A couple ways I can overcome my obstacle with World Geography are to try and study even harder than I have been lately, and to pay even better attention in his class! I can also try to get some extra credit, but I don’t think he gives that out to students, so I’m not sure about that plan. He said he’d give me some EC, but that was about two weeks ago, so he probably forgot about it by now…
This is my obstacle and how I can try and overcome it! I’d better go now, I need to study that World Geo.!
