Dirt Bike Incident

One of the best birthday presents that I ever got was from my stepdad and mom on my twelfth birthday. It was a Honda 125 dirtbike. It was a red dirtbike that I couldn’t believe was really mine.

I circled the bike sitting on our front porch looking at how nice it was. And yes, it was mine. After I found out that it was mine I went for a ride and the wind was blowing through my hair. It smelled as if someone had just mowed the yard. As I was driving I felt as if I was on top of the world I was so excited and surprised that I could actually ride it right then and there.

As time passed I became bigger and more braver of riding my new dirtbike. Then I decided that I would go with my brother to his friends on the way down there I was full of hi spirits and was ready to test it in the woods there was bird’s chirping and animals everywhere. Once we made it all the way to the back of the woods I realized that I could go a lot faster on it so I was pushing it as hard as I could around corners, hills and almost anything in my path.

After a good day of riding my brother and I decided we should head home. So then we left the woods to go home. We made our way down the gravel path then we turned on the road. As we started to gain speed my brother realized that he had forgot his sweatshirt and when he went to turn around I slammed into the side of the four wheeler it sounded like I had been hit by a train. After I hit the side of his four wheeler I went flipping through the air and all I could see was the sky and road back and forth then I slammed onto the road and went sliding till I skidded to a stop.

Although the wreck was over the pain was not. I had blood all over me and my ankle was throbbing with pain it hurt so bad I couldn’t take off my boot to look at it. The Bishops heard the wreck and when they got there the seen the blood and they were all freaking out asking what had happened. I told them what happened so they were checking me out and trying to stop the bleeding. Then I told them my ankle was hurting extremely bad and so I had to tell them to cut my boot just to see what it looked like. It was about the size of a softball and was red and purple. It was the most pain I’ve ever been in.

After everything was over I went to the hospital and they gave me medication and I was in there for like 6 hours and I was on crutches for like 2 months it was so boring I wasn’t able to do anything forever. Something I learned to do was to never ride that fast behind my brother. The whole incident changed the way I drive on the road. I’ll never forget that day because it was wild and it was a painful wreck. If I wasn’t wearing a helmet I probably would be dead because my head bounced off the road and now I have a helmet with a huge crack in it.
