I am going to take you back home with me for one of the best Christmas holiday meals that my family has ever had. It was December twenty fifth of 2002 when I was helping my Grandma cook the best holiday meal ever. We had turkey, ham, potato salad, jell-o, fruit tapioca, pies, which we had chocolate, pumpkin, cherry, and lemon meringue and they were all made from scratch. May I add it smelled like such a delicious meal that I wanted to try everything before the rest of the family had there share.

We always had our Christmas dinner at my Grandma’s house. This was because was the closest and easiest to get to especially on a really bad snowy day. We loved getting together and having a delicious family dinner together. We would eat then open up gifts.

When everyone got there it was time to eat as one huge family. We all ate so much that we stuffed ourselves. Some of my family at so much that they got sick afterwards and I would always ask why they kept eating when they knew they were getting full. You know what their reply was? They exclaimed, “that it was so good that they wanted to have an eating contest.” That is what they would always say.

After everyone got done eating we would go in the dinning room to open up or gifts that we bought for each other. We all had drawn someone’s name that we had to buy a gift for, except my Grandma every Christmas bought gifts for everybody in the family. I just loved having Christmas at my Grandma’s and helping her cook our meal and now that she’s gone I just wish that it could come back. It was always a wonderful Christmas when she was here. Christmas gatherings were always everyone’s favorite especially when it came to the delicious meal.
