Who: Carlee What: Cheerleading When: Freshman year Where:
I remember my eighth grade year I had decided that I wanted to try out for the high-school cheerleading squad. I was so excited to try out; I had my mind set that I could make it. I really was nervous to try out because I didn’t want to make a fool of myself in front of all the high-school cheerleaders. Finally I was so happy when try-outs rolled around, I was so hyped up and I was so excited to make JV because at that point upcoming freshman couldn’t make varsity. Then I got my number in which I would try-out, I went like fifth, I was so scared my stomach was in knots and turning. I had crazy butterflies. But then all of a sudden I got over it, I was confident that I would make it and I suddenly had no fear.
When they were calling the results I was kind of getting scared but then I heard them call my name. I started jumping up and down and going crazy. I was very excited. I had a blast all year. My freshman year was a pretty good year. Then sophomore year came around and I had to try out again. This time wasn’t nearly as scary as the year before. This year I made varsity.
Now today I am a junior and have been on varsity for 2 years now. I am a flyer and I love it. I used to be a base but I hurt my ankle really bad and I couldn’t base anymore. Out of flying and basing I would have to say that flying is the most fun.
