You would think that you would have some kinda relif to this insane ride when btk was arested. I was living down the street from one of the murders in 1977. When I came home from work that day in march,the police where at our house. They said a man had been at knocking on our door, we didnt come home for lunch that day. Good thing. Turns out the man at our door was the btk. We didnt know much about the btk at the time but took all the precautions and started locking our doors, and watching out in the rear view mirror to make sure no one was following us. Its been a hard and long 30yrs knowing we were visited by a monster. We recently found out that he followed one of us girls home from a bar, hince we were called "project blackout". Haveing to live with the thought that you have crossed the path with a man like that took its toll. I was hopeing that the arrest of Denis Rader would end this chapter of my life, but it didnt. I am still haunted by the thought that it would have been us instead of Vian. My heart is saden by that, she has three children that she loved and devoted her life to and at the time I had not started a family. It was almost one year later we had another visit by a man peeping in our back door. The police didnt get to us for 7 hours while we hid under a table. The man got stuck in the alley, (which is the alley that btk used to watch project green, project blackout, and project waterfall). My roomate and I moved out of state soon after that. Its hard to sleep when you have crossed paths with a man like that.....
