I remember coming back to the U.S. after having lived overseas for a good portion of my early years. I partially can remember how I was so desperate to make new friends now that I was back "home." It was difficult for me to make friends because I had a thick Australian accent which stood out in Miami, Florida. There would be times where I would attempt to befriend anyone that came across my path, as I was trying to gain acceptance from people within my new surroundings. This was a difficult process for me, but thanks to my family and their friends I was able to eventually make my own.
