A man found a whole village that was totally wiped out. All the villagers were dead. No signs of injury, just dead.

It was later discovered that the villagers had been killed by mass amounts of Co2 that were being expelled from the nearby volcanic crater lake, which wouldn't be a problem, except Co2 suffocates you if the air is 15% or higher Co2.

So, what modern science did was test it for a while. Then it happened again in 1986. This time some villagers were OK. But still, sleeping family members died and anyone who stepped outside died as well.

So then scientists put a giant tube in the water, which shot water when the Co2 level became too high. But it only removed 13% of the Co2. That was too little, and too much was left. So more tubes are being considered to be put in the lake. But, will it happen again?
