My name is Jason Belk and I am from Davenport, Iowa. On September 11th, 2001 I was where every high school freshman was, in class. I specifically remember being in accounting class when another teacher walked in very urgently to talk to our teacher in private. I was not sure what the commotion was all about and either did my classmates so we continued working on our daily assignment. A few minutes later the same teacher walked in with a television and turned on a news channel, I believe it was MSNBC or CNN. No one said to stop working, we all just kind of stopped on our own. I was confused to what the news anchors were talking about but then they replayed the planes crashing. I think we were let out of school later that day because of the tragic event. I was never into politics or current events so I brushed the event off like it was nothing but looking back on it now I wish I would have soaked it in a little more. I guess I was in a naive state of mind because I never would have guessed some one would attack America.
