What I remember most about the day was that it was really cold. It had snowed the day before so there was a nice white coating on the ground. After I met up with five of my friends we headed to Dupont Circle. There we met up with the Woman’s March that was about to get under way. However, before we marched the Raging Grannies serenaded us. They were a group of old woman who sang political songs.

After we had marched a while with the thousands of people, we separated from the group. We decided to see if we could get on the parade route so that we could see Bush go by. When we got to one of the entrance points we decided that the line was to long and it looked too crowded inside. So we decided to watch Bush go by from the top of some steps.

While we were waiting for Bush to go by, one of the most memorable events of the day occurred. There were group of anarchists standing on top of a bus stop; they were trying to the get the crowd riled up. Eventually they tried to set a flag on fire, and the whole crowd was booing. Since it was so windy they couldn’t get the flag to light right away. One of them eventually ended up lighting their own pants on fire instead of the flag.

After the anarchist left Bush’s limo came by shortly after. Once he had gone by we decided to go home because most of the excitement seemed to be over. All in all it was an interesting day, and I still remember it very clearly.
