Who: Daniel Fredrickson What: 9/11 attack When: Septmber 11th,2001 Where: Hayden Elem. School, IN
It was like any other school day at first, so it’s hard to remember the details. You’d think that you would remember a day like that but it is hard to recall the details, considering the fact the first part of the day was relatively normal. I remember after school, after my mom was done substitute teaching, she told me and my sister to go to the library. When I walked in, the TV was turned to CNN, and I saw the towers go down and the firefighters in the smoke trying to rescue people. That’s all that I saw before my mother ushered me into the hall way and out to the car. Since I didn’t get to see much, and I was only in the 3rd grade, I thought that it was another foreign embassy bombing. It wasn’t until I got home and and saw that they hit New York and the Pentagon that I saw the full scope of the disaster. I was in shock. All of us were really.
The next day at school they announced over the intercom what had happened, but most of us had seen it already. We had a moment of silence, then we talked about what had happened. Then, we moved on as the rest of the nation did.
