Every year around christmas dad always opened up a gag gift from my mother and sister, he didnt think 2001 would be any different. As christmas morning came i was eager to see what the joke was this year. Last years keys to the new boat, a little toy one, in the driveway is gonna be hard to beat. Unwrapping was almost done when my mom and sister had one more. They had saved the best for last so they said, as he opened it up and read that he'd be enjoying the Miami Hurrican game from a much better seat this year he started screaming, "wheres my lazy boy??" but there was no lazy boy. he continued to read and flipped the page to reveal two airplane tickets to pasadena, california. Then he discovered the two 7th row Hurricane EndZone seat tickets and a conformation from a hotel seven miles away from the Rose Bowl stadium. It was the greatest gift he said he had ever gotten, and my mom was like, "and what makes it even better is that youll get to go with your son." then i became extatic. I had only been to a few Canes games in the past and i never even begin to think that i would be going to the Rose Bowl National championship game between my UNDEFEATED Miami Hurricanes and the Cornhuskers from the Univeristy of Nebraska. When we arrived to Cali it was so rediculously unreal i couldnt believe we were there, i just wanted to get to bed and wake up and watch my Canes win the Nat'l Championship. Me and pops sarted to walk into town and the longer we walked the more excited i got, we ended up walking all seven miles to the stadium. Standing on the mountain top overlooking the Rose Bowl was one of the best sites i had ever seen. But when the sun went down it got so much better. The team was an ellite one, untouchable receivers, running backs the was buldoze through linebackers, and a defense that was almost to fast to even watch from up in the stands. The Miami hurricanes Walked off the field with the trophy and the undefeated season, i walked out of the stadium with one of the greatest memories of my life. There will never be a day when i forget the craking of John Vilmas Hlemet when he laid out eric crouche, more imprtantly there will never be a day that i will forget walking to, in, and out of the Rose Bowl with my father. By far the best day of my life so far.
