Old Lady, 2007, by Allie Z

Who: Old lady What: Noticing my lively age When: The summer time Where: Shopping center
Out of all the memories I have, I think this is one I will remember until I am an old woman. I’ll never forget the day that my two girl friends and I were just walking around a shopping center. Of course we were being typical teenage girls laughing and having a good time. If you saw us, you would think we were just being silly girls, and that’s what happened. But it was the person who made a comment that made me remember this moment. It was an old woman, a typical grandma. Short, very wrinkly with gray hair and a weird outfit. Approaching us very slowly with her brittle bones she said with a shaky voice “its good to be young”. And it made me think, that it is good to be young and I shouldn’t take it for granted because one day I will become too old to function and this exact quote will replay in my mind. But thank goodness that I have some time to go before I get to envy a group of young girls and wishing I could be in their shoes!
