Hurricane Katrina changed many of my friends lives and destroyed houses and homes. If I could i would never let Katrina hit. Hundreds died and so didn't animals. It made people live in shelters and buildings for long periods of time and didnt have electricity or food. 2005 was a very bad year to live in Mississippi.

I had friends who had to be in the hurricane and lost there homes. It affected there lives by a lot. My life was not affected because I moved down here from Illinois in the beginning of 07. I'm lucky Katrina did not get to me and my family and I am thankful for that. I wish i could say the same for you all who lived on the gulf coast in the year 2005. Now Mississippi is starting to be rebuilt. That is very good. Houses and schools are being rebuilt, stores, jobs, and many more. That is how Katrina affected my friends lives and there family and community.
